SYNOPSIS
Myia a seventeen-year-old shy, introverted young girl, was thrust into a new city with her mom by the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina; scared but with hope that the move would bring a positive change for their lives. Her Faith and trust in God is what has always gotten her through and she prayed this time would be no different.
Ms. Anderson, Myia’s mom is a single mom with some serious issues. Riddled with pain and bitterness, she is consumed with herself and not with being a mother. Deep inside she loves Myia and knows she has a very special little girl but never takes the time to show her or tell her.
Kisha is the exact opposite of Myia. She is loud, boastful and overbearing. This is her senior year at Lincoln High school, she is most popular, (or so she thinks) and she is not happy about the pretty, new Christian girl that everybody seems to like, stealing her attention.
Jasmine and Princess are Kisha’s sidekicks who are seniors that also come from upper class families. Too scared to stand up to Kisha, because of their own insecurities, they define themselves by what Kisha says and does. When Kisha’s attempt to get her girl Jasmine and Kyree together it doesn’t happen because he likes Myia, she explodes!
Kisha and her sidekicks are enraged and attack Myia putting her in the hospital in a coma.
As horrible as this is it opens the door for change.
Myia taught everyone how to forgive, love and live as Christ wants us too.
While in such a state of darkness Myia was the light that everyone needed, and in the end, her faith and trust in God proved once again to be TRUE.
Our Goal is to Empower, Uplift, and Enlighten!!
